Virtual office hours, new dev portal, & sample WILL implementations

Hey there, inkovators!

Now that we’re mid-way through the hackathon, we figured we'd give you a chance for some real-time interaction. Next Tuesday, October 6, WILL technology evangelist Sierra Modro will be hanging out online to answer your questions, do some quick tool demos, and help you figure out your ink-plementations. (Sorry. We’ll stop with the ink puns now.) Head over to the on-air hangout at 11am PST / 2pm EST.

Before joining us for office hours, you may want to check out the new Wacom developer portal. It’s got all the things — overview, features, and how to get started. There’s also info and documentation for some complementary tools you may want to experiment with: signature, pens, and driver APIs.

In case you’d like to see WILL in action, here are a couple of current WILL implementations:

  • Bamboo Paper is an app for iOS, Android, and Windows. Test import and export of .WILL format files across devices.
  • Bamboo Spark is a brand new hardware/software device that just launched. It uses WILL both behind the scenes to transfer digital ink from the Smart Folio to the Bamboo Spark app as well as using the .WILL file format to allow users to transfer digital ink to Bamboo Paper or other .WILL- enabled applications.
These prizes are WINNERS.

Not only is there a sizeable cash pot for the Inkathon ($51,250), but the top five finalists get to go to CES 2016 in Las Vegas courtesy of Wacom. That’s what we call a win-win-win.
